Due to a minor problem with XP SP2 I was lead to resinstall my oringinal XP.
I first found out that the reinstall put me back to XP basic. Now I can't
bring up OE due to error message 0x80070005. By the way I also recived a
message that my MSOE.DLL was missing or corrupt. Also, I cannot find The SP1
update so I can then download security updates and SP2. A friend gave me his
free XP2 upgrade disc and it failed. HELP HELP

Windows Genuine (Dis)Advantage ?????
Go to Microsoft Update site and choose
the options for administrators
then you can download all the updates / patches
this is best done at a broadband connection XP machine
then burn all these updates / patches to a CD and
run them on your machine.

Was this WinXP SP2 update on CD? In what way did it "fail"?

You needn't install SP1 if it's not installed already, you can go directly
to SP2.
