Problem seeing Contact name

i have these 2 problems for quite sometimes and failed to solve it n
matter how hard i try(consider myself have a certain degree of knowledg
about Windows, but not about Vista

1st is i can't change the font of my Messenger, no matter what font
change it will go back to some sort like Courier or those system font

2nd is that i can't see the contact name and email properly in the cha
window, it shows as ... only

Hope someone can help me solving this troublesome problem. :
