Problem: Slow (~10kB/s) download on Windowsupdates on a fast connection

Hello.
I have been experiencing a very slow download speed for a
very long time, but I didn't noticed it was my computer
problem until today. I don't frequent
Windowsupdate.microsoft.com very much, and some time,
months, back, the download was around ~10 kBps. I
thought the reason for the slow download is because the
download is verifying the content. But when I tried it
on my other computer using the same connection, the
download was over 300 kBps. Both of the computers use
the same operating system, Windows XP w/SP2, AMD Athlon
CPUs, and Internet Explorer. Any tips would be
appreciated.

I'm facing the same problem too. Trying to update win2003 server. Only been
able to download 147mb in 12 hrs. Is the server load too high?
