Hi,
I have an SBS 2003 Server. It has never had any service packs installed. I
have tried to install SP2 but it keeps failing.
First thing that happens is that during the "create third party driver list"
two messages apear stating that "one or more protected files on your computer
have been modified. It asks if I want to overwrite the files. I always choose
"yes" as it stats choosing "no" may make the computer fail or stop responding.
Then it starts the "performing inventory" process. This is where it drops
the progress window and presents the following messages with an OK button.
Service Pack2 Setup Error, "An internal error occurred"
Service Pack2 Setup Error, "Service Pack2 installation did not complete"
In the eventlog I get 2 messages (EventID 64004, Source: Windows File
Protection) saying that secupd.dat and secupd.sig could not be restored to
its original valid version.
I have tried to do a number of thing as stated below but it still fails.
Tried to run sfc /scanonce.
Tried safe mode
Tried different Domain Admin Profiles
Even Tried SP1 (Exactly the same issue)
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
