Greetings Frankie,
When you start Messenger, the Windows Installer will do a "check" to validate that your
Messenger installation is working correctly. If it finds a problem, it will attempt to
"repair" itself.
Usually a forced repair install will stop this from happening. To do so, shut down Messenger
if it's running, go to Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel, click Windows Live
Messenger (or MSN Messenger in your case), choose the Change button and then choose Repair
when prompted.
