Problem trying to install Service Pack 2 on Windows XP

Maybe Im just too tired but I keep getting msg 'windows/system32/cmd.exe is
open or being used by another program' please close all programs and retry.

Well i have closed all programs and also closed all programs that appear as
icons on the right hand side of the bottom task bar.

Is there a simple way of finding out what programs are still running so I
can close them and continue on with my install. I am getting very frustrated
here !!!

Just tried rebooting and doing whatever it is you need to do right after the
reboot?
Any reason you are installing SP2 on Windows XP as opposed to SP3?
