Problem using Activesync with both exchange server and data cable...

I had somebody help setup my MDA but this person is no longer available to
help me. He helped to set me up by subscribing to an internet exchange
server allowing me to sync my home computer (Using Outlook 20003) and my MDA
(PDA). Unfortunately, my work place prevents me from syncing over the
internet with my server for security reasons. Therfore, the only way that I
can sync my calendar/tasks is using a data cable to my mda. Please note that
my outlook at work is 2000.

Let me explain exactly the what is happening:

I have my MDA synced at home using an exchange server for
tasks/calendar/email/contacts. This exchange server is also syncing with my
home computer.

I want to have the MDA sync at work using a data cable with my office
computer. I want to sync only tasks/calendar.

After downloading & installing activesync at work, I then plugged in the MDA
to a data cable. This in turn prompts a new window offering synchronization
options....

The following is checked in activesync (on my office computer) with the
exchange server: contacts/calendar/tasks/email.

I attempted to select local pc option using the arrow down key, but it gave
me a message:

" To proceed activesync must remove all email on your pocket pc. do you want
to continue"?

I want it to sync with the exchange server, mda & local pc for just the
following: tasks/calendar/contacts".

Any ideas how to do this and preserve the email with the exchange server...

Thanks in advance.

Anthony

WM 5 allows you to cross pollinate calendar/tasks and contacts between two
servers. Could be a server and a desktop. Emails however cannot be sync'ed
across two servers so you should not select email for sync with the second
server/desktop. You should let email be selected to be sync'ed ONLY with the
server in your case as you desire. Then for the other PIM types select the
local desktop as well and that should work for you. If not please grab the
%temp%\WCESLog.log file from the desktop
