Problem with Vista deleting, modifying files on an XP drive

I am trying to transfer documents, and personal files for a friend who has
just recently purchased an HP Compaq Windows Vista Home Premium Computer. I
installed the XP hard drive into the Vista PC as a slave with the Vista hard
drive being the master. I set full access for the user who is an
administrator by the way for both drives. When I try to do anything with
this, I can view all the files from the XP hard drive, but I cannot delete,
modify, or transfer between the 2 hard drives.

Did you change permissions on the XP drive so that his Vista user account
has full control?
