problem w/ windows 2000 professional sp4 package - comrepl.dll

I just installed windows 2000 sp1 onto an old computer of mine and I was
trying to update my service packages. First error was that the 'scan for
updates' did not work on windowsupdate.microsft.com. So I downloaded the
network install SP4 package from MSFT's website and I keep getting this
strange error saying that service pack 4 cannot be installed because
comrepl.dll is being used or accessed by another application. The problem is
that I closed down all my applications!!

Help!!! I have tried reseting the computer, redownloading the package, etc.
but nothing has worked!
