Problem w/Windows Update for .NET Framework1.1 (SP1)

Good afternoon. Got notification yesterday of critical
update re .NET Framework 1.1 SP1. Downloaded and
installed the 10+MB successfully. Now, instead of getting
my old Welcome Screen log on, I'm getting the Classic log
on prompt. In addition, the latter says the computer is
locked and I must insert my user name and password. If I
just click "O.K." and not insert anything I can still go
on and use the computer.

If I check into Control Panel>User Accounts, it still
shows the "Welcome Screen" checked as well as the "Fast
Access."

Has anyone else (1) run into this situation and (2)
corrected this situation (i.e. gotten the Welcome Screen
log on back up)?

Thanks,
Robert 9/9/04 3:40 p.m. EDT

I have the same sort of problem on 2 computers. The difference
being...start-up (or restart) continues completely to desktop w/o stopping at
welcome/sign-in page. I haven't tried to put in a password (don't really want
to if I don't have to, but still liked it to stop there.
