My problems started with Defender not updating automaticaly, Then when I
tried manually update thru Microsoft update. I get this page cannot be
display as requested. Tried to remove Defender I find that I can't get into
Windows component add/remove of Control Panel.
The error code on Defender is code 0x80080005
The error in window setup is Setup library wbemupgd.dll could not be loaded
or functoinOcEntry could not be found. the specific error code is 0x7e
So far i have tried unsuccesfuly to reregister the dll files, reinstall
window update. When I register the dll's I always get an error on
wuaueng1.dll.
The error is "wuauen1.dll is not an executable file and no registration
helper is registered for this file.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm starting to think format
Should add I using WinXP x64

Thank you for your help

http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...933845.xml.asp

When I register the dll's I always get an error on wuaueng1.dll.
The error is "wuauen1.dll is not an executable file and no registration
helper is registered for this file.

Compare file names quoted by you. Have you typed one wrongly? The
correct name is wuaueng1.dll. So try registering that dll.

Hope this helps.

Make sure the drive is error free. Run a chkdsk /r on it to ensure.
Current wuaueng1.dll:

05/26/2005 194,328

I would try Start, Run, type "sfc /scannow" without quotes and hit
Enter.
