Problem with WLM 8.5 and 8.1

Since i turne don my computer this morning i havnt been able to send messages
to anyone on my contact list.
At first i had 8.5 beta installed and when i ran the program this morning
the repair shield poped up and asked for a install patch, so i cancelled that
restared my PC

After the restart 8.5 ran fine, it logged on and my list came up so i tried
to send a message, and i got the 'this message can be delivered please try
later' message

this happened on all ym contacts, and as soon as i press enter button to
send the message i get that error, its like it doesnt even try to send it

This also happens in the stable build on 8.1

Ive done a total uninstall and reinstalled ive even deleted the folders from
application data from within my user account in XP, but still no joy

Ive tried sending messages in trillian, and that works perfectly, without
any problems

Please someone help me sort this out

The servers have been messed up [again] over the past 4-5 hours causing these problems.
Until this is resolved, there isn't much to troubleshoot.
