Problem with WSUS 3.0

Since this month all of my client PC's (XP) are reporting that they do not
need any updates in the local windowsupdate.log but on the WSUS server it is
saying that clients need 6 updates! I have uninstalled WSUS and installed on
a different server and I am still getting the same problem. Can anyone help
as this is driving me crazy!!
