A problem on your computer is preventing updates from being downlo

My Pc contracted Virus (trojen horse) so I had to Re-Instal windows XP Home
Ed. from Installation disks (about 5 times)! My PC is about 2 yrs old /
Compaq. I re-formated the drive. I am trying to download all critical
updates Automatically, there are 90 of them and they ALL FAIL! I get the
folowing message: A problem on your computer is preventing updates from being
downloaded or installed . How can I find out what thew problem is.

Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from Microsoft
Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you perform a new Windows XP
installation or you repair a Windows XP installation:
