Problems With Adobe.com and IE 8

Someone told me that they were browsing on the computer today and a message
from Google came up that said, an update to Adobe Flash Player is available,
but they did not click on it or anything. I have cleared out my history,
temp, and cache files in IE 8, rebooted and can not get to www.adobe.com to
download the latest version of Adobe Flash Player, I know that Adobe is
affiliated with Google.com. I went to Adobe's site, learning a long time ago
NEVER to click on any pop up windows while browsing, and every time I go to
www.adobe.com the page does not finish loading and the browser locks up, Is
there something from an external server preventing the loading of the page?
Oh a Virus Definitions Update and a complete system scan turned up nothing.
(I use Avast Home 4.8)

I read on the MS IE blog that several users are having problems with Flash
Content after this last Windows Update was pushed out. Note that I cannot
just uninstall Adobe Flash Player because I can't get to the Adobe Site to
get a fresh download of it. Nor do I want to, because it is only at
www.adobe.com in using IE 8 where the browser crashes. All other instances
and games that use Adobe Flash work fine.

There is also no problem with my existing Flash Player (Version 10.+) As of
now, I am just going to assume a problem with the site.

Also, the site works fine in Firefox but not in IE 8. The problem seems to
be some Flash Content that is loading on the page in Firefox with Adobe
promoting a new version of software. The promotion ad is not coming up in IE
8, crashing the site. At least I know that I was doing nothing wrong!

Will leave this topic open for anyone affiliated with Adobe.com so that
techs can address the problem.

As of December 8th 2009 the latest and most secure version of the Adobe
Flash Player is version "10.0.42.34".

If you are having difficulty updating the Flash Player online, then you can
Manually Uninstall and Manually Re-install the Flash Player.

Download the following two files and save them to your Desktop

Flash Player Uninstaller:
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/f...ash_player.exe
Flash Player Installer:
http://www.macromedia.com/go/full_flashplayer_win_ie

1. Disconnect from the Internet and temporarily disable any Real-Time
Secruity Application(s) running in the background on your machine.
2. Run the Uninstaller file from the Desktop to completely remove the Flash
Player from your System.
3. Run the Installer file from the Desktop to reinstall the latest
version(10.0.42.34) of the Flash Player.

Good luck,
