After i was promt to download the SP2.
i install the software and promt to restart the system (which i did)
once the whole syatem came back on again...
i keep having this pop-up saying...

" Windows Explorer had encountered a problem and needs to close. we are
sorry for the convenience." and the rest of the text is
ba..bra..ba....something like
" Please tell Microsoft about this problem.".....

i have 2 options... SEND ERROR REPORT and DONT'T SEND. whichever option i
click on....its keep coming back....as above

( " Windows Explorer had encountered a problem and needs to close. we are
sorry for the convenience." and the rest of the text is
ba..bra..ba....something like " Please tell Microsoft about this problem." )

i can still work on my computer through my desktop but my start menu (bottom
left of screen ) cant do anything, when i click on it...nothing happens....
it seem to me the whole lower bar of the screen ( Start Menu and system tray
) somehow disable.... when i leave my pointer at those area...it seem showing
busy sign...
Anyone out there knows what is going on?
can i uninstall service pack IE6.0 Sp2?
i cant even restore my system....each time i restore...after restart, it say
my system couldnt restore to an ealier point.....

Look again. There is a third option there: [click here]
Use that and capture the Error Signature it will show you.
There is no right-click menu there but you should be able
to drag your mouse pointer over the text to select it.
You may even be able to doubleclick on a word in the text
and then press Ctrl-a. Once the message has been selected
press Ctrl-c to copy it to your ClipBoard. (Then you can paste
it in a reply.) In any case, report the Error Signature information
here.

It could mean that explorer.exe is the program which crashed.
In that case you could use Task Manager to start it again.
(or kill it and restart it if it is hung, etc.)

Sure. Run... appwiz.cpl Select "Windows XP Service Pack 2"
and then click on Remove.

Try a search?

<title>How to troubleshoot the System Restore tool in Windows XP</title>
http://support.microsoft.com/default...1&PA=1&SD=HSCH

(Win-F1 search for
"system restore" AND (troubleshoot*)

Options:
Microsoft Knowledge Base
Windows XP
Boolean phrase
)

BTW none of this really has much to do with Windows Update
so you may find you get better assistance from a newsgroup
which specializes in your OS.

Good luck
