Problems applying 3rd party themes

Ive downloaded alot of various themes for vista from deviantart.com and
pasted the whole folder to c:\windows\resources\themes but yet I still
cannot apply them. Ive applied Vistaglazzbeta3 and also tried using
VistaDeskHack but still no success.

Firstly, why do some of these themes have the .msstyle extension and
some have the .theme extension?

and secondly, how do I get vista to acknowledge that I have put the
correct files into the correct folder? Why arent these extra themes
coming up when I click on the personalize button?
