I have serious problems burning DVDs. If I'm using the Windows DVD burner the
program stops working as soon as the actual burning is to take place. If I
try to do the same using NERO (7.7.5.1) the computer shuts down just like
that. It's a newly built system with a Plextor PX-760A (ATA) DVD-burner. Is
it Vista (Home Premium, Swedish) or could it be that my power supply is to
weak? (PSU 430W, Athlon X2 4600+, GF7600GT, 2GB Ram, 4*320GB in RAID 5, 1 USB
HD, 1 USB Microphone, 1 USB webcam, and 1 GB readyboost USB) Still, there is
no difference weather I disconnect the USBs or not.

Nero greatly affects Windows burning. Try uninstaling Nero. (any problem to
do with multimedia or optical drives is probably caused by Nero).

thats an awful wimpy power supply to be running a x2 on and 4 hard disks
plus 2 gigs of ram.
my guess is that when windows kicks on the laser to burn you get a power
drop out.
Change out that power supply for a 600 watt with at least 2 12 volt rails
and I'll bet you it's fixed.

Make sure your dvd burner is up-to-date on it's firmware as well.

Oh yes it is, latest firmware (1.06). I honestly think it's the power supply.
I need more power!

I think you're right. I don't know what I was thinking. I'll actually try to
log the power outtake by the system from the socket first though.
Thank you though!
