Problems enabling ActiveSync for PPC Emulator

Hi All,

I've installed the latest versions of eMbedded Visual C++, Active Sync,
and PPC 2003 SDK, and I'm having trouble getting it all to work properly
together. It's the emulator that I'm particularly having problems with.
I can boot it and it seems to work OK, until I try to connect to it.

All I really need is for the emulator to be able to access the Internet
so that I can test PDA enabled web sites.

As far as I can tell I've followed the directions properly. I've set
communication to be by VirtualSwitch, and when I click "test", the
emulator boots up fine. However when I try to run "EmuASCfg /ppc" it
hangs when it gets to "Deploying XML provisioning files and tools...".
It appears to also hang when I try to deploy sample applications from
within Visual C++.

I've done quite a bit of googling to try to resolve this, but I haven't
found anything that even mentions the problem.

Incidentally my host computer is running Windows Server 2003, fully patched.

I've found that after I've tried running EmuASCfg, VC++ seems to lock up
and I can't fix it until I do a full reboot.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Eugene O'Brien

Hi All,

The problem is sorted now. It did work eventually, it just took a really
long time, like half an hour or so. Anyway ActiveSync is now working fine.
