Problems Encoutered after Windows Update

My laptop is setup to connect to the shared drives in our office server. At
home, I connect to the office thru VPN an access the shared drives at the
office server. This was working perfectly until I installed the Automatic
Windows Update.

My Outlook did not work until I found out that I can lower the security to
NTLM. To date I still can't find a resolution with regards to the shared
drive connection.

It ask for a user name and password but it seemingly can not authenticate
the user name and password, times the hourglass sets on the screen for a
very long time. When my laptop is in the office, the same user name and
password I use - with no problems.

Any help is greatly appreciated ...
