problems with every update!

For years and years I downloaded every single update that was recommended,
with no problem. The past couple of months with every update their is a
different problem with my computer from blue screen errors (finally
determined to be from a Hotfix) to problems booting up and having to do a
system restore with updates downloaded on 12/12/06.

Do others have these problems? Why the problems? Have you just shut off
the auto updates altogether? You cannot get answers from Microsoft about
it, they just won't reply, they won't address concerns.

If you've done every update ... I assume that you downloaded/installed IE7?
If so, EVERYONE is having problems with that installation.

I downloaded IE7 a month ago. One of my problems (blue screen hotfix) was
pre-IE7. The downloads on this past Tuesday did not specifically refer to
it being an IE7 update. Since removing the last 4 updates on 12/12, all is
fine again and I still have IE7 which also works fine.
