problems installing iTunes updates

I have vista home premium on my gateway desktop and though i have an older
version of itunes installed, vista wont let me update with new itunes
software or updates. anyone else having this problem with Apple software on
Vista in general? I cant install Safari for Vista either or Quicktime.

Uninstall quicktime, then install the newest itunes.

I had this problem updating iTunes, solved it by running the Windows
Installer CleanUp Utility and deleting the iTunes entry.

I had the same problem with iTunes/QuickTime and Roxio/Sonic. Before Vista
will let you update/install a newer version of a program, all remnants of the
program must be completely removed from your system. Since the Vista
uninstall feature sometimes does a poor job at this, these remnants often
have to be removed manually. The following tutorial shows how to do this:
