After I installed all the updates on Oct 14 2005-
My system restore screen was a white blank, My mcafee screens were
white blanks, my system informaion screen was a white blank.
When I unistalled the IE 6 security patch-everything went back to normal.
Has anybody had the same problem? Is microsoft going to issue a patch?
Any help out there?

I had the same problems as CK. I am having trouble opening some pictures and
most videos do not open either. I cannot do a system restore. Anybody know
what to do in lay man's terms? How do I uninstall the IE 6 security patch?

CK, thank you so much for the uninstall information. Just as you said, my
computer went back to normal. What is causing this, and how did you know to
uninstall that particular update and not the rest? Thanks again!

It would be useful to know whether your "white screen"
is a connectivity issue or a rendering issue.
To try to discover that you could use View, Source (Alt-V,c)
E.g. if the normal source for the site was present
it would be a rendering issue; otherwise it would be a connectivity issue.

For a rendering issue one thing to try would be to Run...

regsvr32 /i mshtml.dll

You don't need to use Control Panel to open its applets.

Run... (e.g. press Win-R and enter control appwiz.cpl
