Problems opening links and web pages

I'm not even sure if i am in the right discussion group but here goes...I
have Internet Explorer 6 and from one day to the next my computer i couldn't
log onto certain web pages that i was able to the day before, I keep getting
redirected to something called "Internet Optimizer" and it shows up
"Navigation error/ DNS error". For example, I tried to go into Yahoo.com and
i get redirected. I also tried to open up links from my home page (MSN.com)
and some won't work either and my home page looks different (the background
was Blue, now it's white and there is a "b" in the upper left hand corner,
all by itself and it wasn't ther before.) I even went into Microsoft Help
and there is a link for exactly what i need (problems opening web sites) but
the link won't open up, so i can't even see what i need to do to fix the
problem. Thank you very much.

It sounds like you may have a browser hijack. Post your message in
alt.comp.anti-virus or microsoft.public.security.virus. Start a new thread
there. Sometimes the fixes are difficult and you may need an expert to help
you. They are the right groups to help you identify and repair the problem.

If you have anti-spyware you should run it. If not, you should download
Spybot Search and Destroy and/or Ad-Aware SE personal edition. Both are free
and can be found at www.cnet.com. (Enter the names of the programs in the
search box at the top of screen.)
