Problems running Palm software after Critical Updates

I've been working on this problem for the last few days and it's driving me
nuts!

Everything was working fine until I recently applied a series of Critical
Updates from Microsoft.

These updates were:

KB842773
KB890859
KB893086
KB893066
KB890923
MS Windows Installer 3.1

Immediately after that update was complete, I began to get a pop up window,
with the header HOTSYNC.EXE, with this error:

The instruction at "0x0a93c0e0" referenced memory at "0x0a93c0e0" . The
memory could not be "read".

I then have to click OK to close the program. This happens everytime I try
to run the HotSync program.

I have determined that HOTSYNC.EXE does run in safe mode, so I think that
there is a conflict with the recent Windows Update that needs to be addressed.

I've run McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise, McAfee Stinger, Spybot,
SpywareBlaster, Microsoft AntiSpyware, and AdAware - everything is clean.
I've cleared my internet caches, history, and temporary files.

I've tried CCleaner and ShellExView to clean up the registry. None of these
measures have worked so far.

I just thought I'd try posting this to the board; I sent this as an email to
MS support but I'm hopeful that with more people seeing this, I might get
more input. Thanks!

I see that when I edited my above post I took out that part. Yes, I have
reinstalled that: old version, new version, safe mode, normal mode... more
than I can count. I've also followed various instructions from Palm re:
deleting install folders in the user profiles, etc. I really think this is
an MS issue.
