Problems with Service Pack 2

Since i downloaded pack #2 ,my computer has been giving me problems shuting
down Saying capp not responding and after sitting for a few min and the xp
screen comes on I cant get the moniter to go back to the desk top without
shutting it down from the tower on/ off switch. There is some other stuff to.
Should I just get rid of pack #2 for now untill all the bugs get worked or is
there something I can do to stop this???? Im using XP PRO Thanks ,
