problems signing into windows live hotmail page from messenger

I have a question here. when I try to get into my e mail inbox through
messenger it takes me to the old msn page that says e mail address or
password is incorrect. I am curious as to what is causing this and why it is
coming over like this when it was fine not too long ago. is there a way I can
get it to go back to my hotmail page the way it normaly does?
