Problems snycing future appointments

Windows Vista Ultimate
Outlook 2003
HTC Fuze (TouchPro) from AT&T

First, I cannot find a group for Windows Moile Device Center (WMDC), so I
assume this group cover ActiveSync and WMDC.

In WMDC I have the sync settings for Calendar set to "Synchronize all future
appointments and the past 6 months".

Recurring appointments seem OK, but most future appointments do not get
synced. I cannot detect any pattern as to what gets synced and what doesn't,
some do, some don't!

Today (Jan 28), as a test, I created new individual appointments every
Saturday up to June 6th, but only those up to Mar 7th synced. All the test
appointments after that date did not get synced.

However, there are individual appointments that are synced to my phone after
that date, so it doesn't appear to be a fixed date issue. For example,
appointments on Apr 4 and May 3 synced, but I can find no individual
appointents after May 3 that synced even though there are many in my outlook
calendar.

Hopefully this is something I am doing wrong, any ideas?

Thanks!

Richard

Hi Richard,

You might want to run scanpst to see if it helps fix the issue. Disconnect
the device and then run it on the PC.

Thanks for the link, but it was for Outlook 2007, the link for Outlook 2003
is at:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ou...CH010496951033

I ran it, and no changes, appointments still not being synced properly.

At the moment I am not creating any important appointments on my phone so
Outlook is up to date.

I have tried deleting and recreating the partnership multiple times and no
change. I also tried turning off the sync of all other information
(contacts, email etc.) and ONLY syncing calendar, but still no change.

Only some of my future appointments are getting synced.

On my old XP laptop with ActiveSync and my old iPAQ everything worked fine
for years. Now, the 'new and improved' WMDC just seems to mess everything up.

There are two things i suggest you verify:

1. For those items that are not synching, make sure they have an End date.
2. Check that there are no filters activated and that your Calendar is
configured to view all appointments.

1 - Not sure what you mean by End Date. As I mentioned in my original post,
recurring appointments sync OK. I have checked open ended recurring
appointments (birthdays, anniversarys etc.) out as far as Dec 2011 and all
are syncing OK. The appointments that are not syncing are individual/one off
appointments. These are both single day appointments and appoitments with
specific start and end times.

2 - On my phone, touching Menu -> Filter shows All Appointments checked.
Are there other filter settings somewhere else?

Some more testing...

I went to Outlook and created an appt many months in the future. When I
clicked on "Save and Close", Sync center indicated it was syncing. After a
few seconds it stopped saying sync successful, but the appt did not show up
on my phone.

So, it appears sync center knew that the new appt needed to be synced, and
thinks it synced it, but it did not show up on my phone.

I then went to the phone and also created a new appt many months in the
future. This also caused a sync to happen, but after the sync, the appt only
shows up on my phone, not in outlook.

I then disconnected the phone, and reconnected and nothing changed. The
outlook created appt only showed in outlook, and the phoen created appt only
showed on the phone.

Help!

This gets stranger and stranger.

In Outlook, I create a full day appt on Mar 15 and it shows up on my phone
on Mar 14. If I change it from a full day appt, to a specific time, it
correctly shows on my phone on Mar 15, If I change it back to a full day
appt, it moves to Mar 14.

Both the phone and computer are set to US Central time.
