To start off with win XP has been THE WORST program i ever used..Nothing runs
well. I wish i never bought this comp & want a MAC..With that said ..my
latest problem is an ERROR Message That i don't have enough disk space on
C:\Windows\$Nt SService Pack Uninstall$...with 27.5 gigs free...?? so whats
the problem....& yes i read/did ALL the requirements that BOTH H.P. &
Microsoft said to do...So please do not answer with a link to how to do a SP2
update from microsoft...I also have done it from the free CD & MS update
(that is somewhere on my comp)..with all programs off/scan disk/defrag/spam
removed...etc etc...Help if u can..

"yes i read/did ALL the requirements that BOTH H.P. & Microsoft said to do"
No one here knows exactly what that is.
Essentially you seem to say you have tried everything.
If that is truly the case, there is nothing left and it is time to give up.

You say 27.5 gb free.
Where?
Is it on C?
Is Windows also installed on C?

Also, you don't want a link.
This link is the best I can offer without all the specifics you left out:
http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/spackins.htm
Follow it carefully.

If you continue to have problems, perform a Clean Installation and then
install SP-2 before you do anything else.
If you can temporarily borrow a hard drive, perform a Clean install and
install SP-2 on it.
This will help determine if the problem is with your hardware or something
else.

Ok you want specs...40 gig HD on C:\..after the HP partition & all the
updates with SP1 & from HP 27.5gigs free..all HP garbage removed no programs
but norton & a firewall & a spyware program on comp..amd 1.4 gig 256 mb ram
on this Pavilion XT983 HP comp..i did msconfig turned off all start-up,scan
disk,de-frag disk clean up, removed cookies, removed internet files, did spam
removal,antivirus scan,disabled anti virus,antispam,read all help including
posts here,read/installed all HP patches...the list goes on....so with 27.5
gigs free on C:\ why don't i have enough free HD space acording to the
install message i get....if you want more info please post....or e-mail
me..thx
