Hi folks,I am not able to search manually for windows updates.I get th
small red x and error number 0X80070002.I've tried all the suggestions
can find(emptying the data store folder etc)to no avail.I am worried
don't have all the updates I need but can't visit microsofts updat
page.A few months ago I had to do a partial reinstall of windows due t
a crash and at the time had loads of updates including vista servic
pack 1,now when I click on installed updates it only shows 63 update
with no sign of SP1.I can check for updates from within the computer an
it tells me I'm up to date.I downloaded and ran belarc advisor and tha
tells me I'm missing one critical update,KB931906 and the earlies
update installed is on 09/07/08 but there were lots more installe
before then.I would appreciate any help in resolving this proble
please.Thankyou

Hi,

Have you followed the steps here?
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910336

Otherwise, you should try the free Windows Update Support options:

On the left side of that second link there is a "contacts" line (one of four
lines, the others being Top Issues, Error Messages, and How-to). Click on it
and there are two listings under support professionals. One is for issues in
downloading and installing updates, the other for problems incurred after
installing an update. You should be selecting the first one. Provide the
details requested and submit the issue.
