Hi guys,

I've gotten the BSOD a few times lately and scheduled error checking on my
primary partition to ensure that all files are intact. during the checks
these files turned up with remarks.

sbs_mscordbi.dll
sbs_mscoresec.dll
sbs_vsavb7rt.dll
systempropertiescomputername.exe.mui

apparently the error checking found problems with these files and tried to
correct them. however every time i run the error checking on the primary
partition the same files get flagged (so im assuming they arent getting
fixed).

1. is there a way i can manually fix this problem. i ran the internal search
program and could not find these files i guess there are in some protected
folder of sorts...

2. the last time i tried to run the vista sp1 update it crashed on the file
sbs_mscoresec.dll and i almost could not revert back to the previous version
of vista before updating to sp1. is there a way to ensure that the upcoming
auto update to sp1 will run smoothly.

thanks in advance.

If you get repeated errors on a disk, it's time to save data and replace it.
It's extremely unlikely that it will fix itself with any software. You've
been lucky so far that the files being corrupted were not so critical that
you lost data.

hi Mark,

Is there no other way? i would hate to have to backup all my data and then
reinstall vista ground up. that would really be a pain. where are these 4
files stored and if i get a copy from a mate with vista will it work if i
just replace the files?
