Hi,

How can Automatic Updates and EventLog be required to use the new
WindowsUpdate?

Does that mean I am barred from using WIndowsUpdate if I have EventLog and
Automatic Updates set to Manual or Disabled (or even SC DELETE <service>)

Is'nt windowsUpdate a Manual Update service.. why do I need Automatic
Updates enabled for that?

It seems that EventLog, Bits and Auto-update must all be set to Automatic
for v5 Windowsupdate to even work... its not enough to have them just started
from a Manual state..

Why?

don't know why but I got my mom's pc set up and I had to put those to
automatic on her's as well before it started the download, etc.
