Problems With Vista

I have installed Windows Vista Home Premium on my computer and I've had
several issues that are probably more annoyances than big issues but I would
like to resolve them....

The permissions issue...is there any way around this? I get asked for
permission almost every time I open a program (sometimes twice). I am the
only user on the computer and it is annoying especially since all I have to
do is click on the box and it goes away...no password required--hardly any
security at all.

Minesweeper- this used to be a very basic game that would run on Windows 3x
with 1 meg (not gig) of memory and no problems. However I now have tried
using it on Vista and I can never complete a game without it hanging up in
the middle (sometimes several times). This is definitely not fun. Is there
a fix for this?

Internet Explorer...I know this is not an IE7 issue because I have IE7 on an
XP machine that I'm still using and I don't have this issue. I have created
a shortcut that I occasionally like to use for opening a blank page while
still having a shortcut that opens my home page. The shortcut is coded like
this.
"Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nohome. When I try and
execute this shortcut nothing happens. On XP and earlier versions IE would
open with a blank page instead of my home page. Is there a solution for
this (or a reasonable workaround)?

Thanks for any help....

Thanks for the response. The tweak to disable the user account control does
work but it also keeps that red 'x' on the task bar saying there's a
security problem. Is there a way to disable this cleanly?

Also does anyone have answers to the other two issues I raised (Minesweeper
and Internet Explorer)?

Thanks...

Why not change your home page preference to blank and use the shortcut
for the page you'd otherwise want?

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?

Blamew the people who wrote the programs for not following basic
security requirements and needing a spreadsheet to be run as
administrator.
