procedure entry point error

I am trying to download the internet explorer 6 sp1, and after it download
and tries to open, I get an error that says "the entry point InternetGet
ConnectedState could not be located in the dynamic link library
Wininet.dll".. If any one can please help with these issue, Ill appreciate
it. Thanks in advance!!!

Problems with entry points indicate problems with module versions
or possible module corruption. Repairs are OS dependent.

Depending on your maintenance level another repair could be
installing a patch which includes the module which needs to be
replaced. Similarly uninstalling a patch which contains that module
and then reinstalling it could have a similar effect.

enter the following Javascript fragment in your Address bar:
