Process id=0x434 (1076), Thread id=0x1ca0 (7328)

In my attempt to install 5 Windows update items on my Windows XP laptop, I
have received the above error message. The download process would not
install these items:
Microsoft .NET framework
Office Service Pack 3
Microsoft Office 2003 - Junk Email Filter
Microsoft Office 2003 Service Pack 2
Microsoft Office 2003 Update for Office Tools

What must I do or what settings must I change to permit these updates.
