Trying to log a problem with Microsoft, but they need a product ID. When I
look at the System Properties window (bottom section) it shows:
"Windows is Activated
Product ID: Not Available"
Ran a Windows Genuine Advantage check, and my system checks out. Tried
using my Vista CD key in place of Product ID but this does not work. Where
has the product id dissappeared to?
(Using Vista 64-bit Ultimate Edition)

Hello,
See what is on this entry in the registry?
HKLM\software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion:ProductID
Try entering that number.
Thanks,

If the person from whom you "acquired" the OS installation CD cannot
give you the Product ID, you'd be wise to immediately check with the
appropriate law enforcement agencies to ensure that you haven't
inadvertently purchased stolen property.
