I purchased two product keys for Vista and have used one of them on my
current computer. Now I'm going to install the second one on my other
machine and I'm not sure which key was used already. I there a way to tell
which one was used and activated and which one wasn't? I don't want to use
the one that was already activated and have Microsoft tell me it's
counterfiet. Thanks

If you use the wrong one the worst that happens is that you are told it is
already in use and try again, put in the other one and you are on your way.

You should be able to use Belarc Advisor from
http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html to find the Product Key of the
license (and a lot of other useful information) already installed.

Microsoft Activation would not tell you its counterfeit. It would simply tell
you it was already installed. At which point you would have the option of
calling the Activation Centre for your Geographical location. Simply speaking
truthfully to the technician will usually result in an Activation within 5-10
minutes (depending where you are in the que.)

The last time I used that product, it showed the Product ID, rather than the
Product Key.

Just downloaded and installed the latest Advisor. It now shows the CD key to
the right of the Product ID.
