How long has this message been coming up? What was the last program you
installed? That would be suspect. Have you uninstalled a program and
received an error?

Are you running the lastest antivirus software and is it current?

If you can provide more details you will probably get a better answer.

The only thing you can do is report it to the company that sold you
the software that produced it.

String tables are used to make it easier to make an app run with
multiple languages. You tell the app to look up a string tagged as
PRODUCT_NAME (for example) in the string table, and the string table
has the name of the product in the appropriate language. That way you
just have to provide a different string table to make it work in a
different language, instead of having different versions of
programming code for different languages (which you would then have to
keep in sync, which would inevitably fail).

Short form: some developer goofed and didn't get the right string into
the table.

I got the message after I downloaded the software. Do you think that might
be the reason that I"m getting the message?

As I said, it's nothing you did. It's a programmer error.

OTOH, he didn't say that he *ran* the software or that he got the message
when trying to install it. That would be a mystery.

I think he must have meant that he ran the software or the installer, but
who knows?

BTW, I don't know if Lauria is a surname or a given name. If the latter,
maybe I should have used "she" for the pronoun above :-)

still getting the window installer in other user name. BTW - Lauria is
pronounce as Laura the i is silent and yes, I'm a female.
Thanks,
Lauria

I'm out of my depth a bit here - but I would try to log in under that user
name and then see if it can be uninstalled there.

I'm quite sure the message is coming from a specific program; it is almost
certainly not a Windows message, but a result of a bug in the program in
question. In other words, I agree with Tim Slattery in his first post
upthread.
