We have a group of PC's (mainly running win2000 pro) that have installed the
latest Malicious Software Removal Tool via WSUS update. These PC's are
showing what appears to be corrupt user profiles, with the old profile
showing as "user" and the new one showing as "user.machineid". Copying the
files from old to new allows the user to continue as if nothing had happened.
Has anyone experienced this problem, and is there a fix available? The only
common factor appears to be the MSRT, and we can only assume that it is
locking the registry while running at the same time the user is attempting to
log in.
Regards,
Mike
