Program doesn't load

I am running MS Word 2000 with Vista Home Basic.
When I click on the icon to load the program it loads
but then immediately terminates. I've also tried
right clicking and loading as administrator but no deal.

How do I fix this? Thanks in advance.

Uninstall Word, reboot, then install again. To install again, right click
on Setup and run as Administrator

I tried to right click on the setup icon but it did not
respond.

Right click on the program icon, choose properties and go to the
Compatibility tab. Change the Compatibility Mode to a prior version of
Windows and see if that helps.

Interesting. I run Home Premium, and if I right-click on Excel 2007, and
choose properties, there's no compatibility tab. if I right-click on
Firefox, and do the same, there IS a compatibility tab...
