Program Installed but not Installed???

I have been chasing my tail all morning as Windows Update keeps trying to
update a program that is in the list of programs to Uninstall/Change, but
when I try to uninstall it ( per a help and support article) I am told "
This Action is Only Valid for Products that are currently installed" What do
I do with this Catch 22??????

Have you tried reinstalling it from the original media, then try to
uninstall?

Hi Lee,

Read carefully over this page and follow the directions as stated. This
should clear things up for you and allow you to reinstall properly. BTW, a
little more info on your post would have been helpful like what program
update you were referring to and the help and support article you mentioned.
