I have sent my calendar to several friends but they do not have Vista and
cannot open my email attachment. I also want to put a copy of my calendar on
my other computer. What programs (like Works for example) can open Windows
Calendar?
Thanks, Becky

Hello,

e.g. Office Outlook can open that file type and display the calendar. But I
don't know any other at the moment, I'm sorry.

Greetings,

I don't use Outlook that I am aware of. And I guess none of my friends to
either since they couldn't open it. Can I get a free download to put on my
other computer so I can open my calendar there?

The answer is in your question.
Simply export your calendar from Windows Calendar and import it into the
calendar from MS Works.
I've tried it using MS Works 8.5.

Windows Calendar exports its data as *.ics files. This is a standard
Internet format, defined by RFC 2445. This format is sometimes called
iCalendar or "iCal". The ics file you save in Windows Calendar, can be
opened by any application which understands the iCalendar format.

There are many applications which can read or import RFC 2445 iCalendar
files; including Windows Oulook (part of Office); Mozilla Thunderbird, and
Microsoft Works. If you have Works, you can just import the ics file into
it. If you need a program to display ics calendars on a non-Vista machine,
you can download Thunderbird, which is free:
http://en.www.mozilla.com/en/thunderbird/

But if you already have Works, just use it; no need for extra software.
