Program window only appears at shutdown

Using winXPHome. After updating to SP2, I've run into an unusual
problem. I have been using Roxio CD Creator 5 Platinum for some time
with no problems. Now, when I click on the link to load the program, an
hourglass appears for a few seconds and then disappears. The program
window does not appear. The program is not listed in Program Manager as
a running program. When I go to Start|Turn Off Computer, the CD Creator
window appears briefly before the computer shuts down.

Apparently this is happening as a result of the service pack (since it
never happened before).
Is there a way to remedy this problem?

Thank you for any help.

Roxio lists version 5 as *legacy* software. A un-updated version 5 of EasyCD would indeed have issues.
I'd suggest getting Vers 6 or later.

Check on exactly what version 5 you do have. Go to Roxio's web support site, and carefully check on what updates are available for your version.
See http://www.roxio.com/en/support/ecdc...atesv5_2.jhtml

Also http://www.roxio.com/en/support/software_updates.jhtml

You can check for your installed version by opening either Music CD Project or Data CD Project and going to "Help" and then to "About Easy CD Creator".

** Be sure to read Jim's notes on Easy CD / Direct CD version 5 **

For your issue, I'd highly suggest using one of the many Windows XP groups, such as help and support.

While it may be understood that SP2 somehow relates to Windows Update, your situation is better addressed in an XP forum.
