Roxio lists version 5 as *legacy* software. A un-updated version 5 of EasyCD would indeed have issues.
I'd suggest getting Vers 6 or later.
Check on exactly what version 5 you do have. Go to Roxio's web support site, and carefully check on what updates are available for your version.

You can check for your installed version by opening either Music CD Project or Data CD Project and going to "Help" and then to "About Easy CD Creator".

For your issue, I'd highly suggest using one of the many Windows XP groups, such as help and support.
