I have 3 programs identified with this problem: minesweeper, hearts, and
windows
media player. The first 2 give the message immediately. Media player works
until I
try to view a picture. The details of windows media show the following files:

C:\Users\s4\AppData\Local\Temp\WER2165.tmp.version .txt
C:\Users\s4\AppData\Local\Temp\WER3064.tmp.appcomp at.txt
C:\Users\s4\AppData\Local\Temp\WER30C2.tmp.mdmp

Unfotunately the AppData folder doesn't exist.

Any help if fixing these programs is appreciated,

S3

Those are TMP lines and they are of no help. You need to post the error (s) that are
shown in the Event Viewer

Peter,

The only message is "Executable for Minesweeper Game has stopped working"
Windows is collecting more info about the problem.

Hi,

Looks like a video driver update. I would check for an update for your
display adapter from Nvidia (not Windows Update).
