Proxy and Windows Updates

My broadband modem finally went completely dead and a new one has been
installed. I have updated the nVidia drivers for the NIC card.

After launch, I find that I am now behind a proxy. Have not been
previously. I have no problem getting to the internet.

How are either of these changes apt to affect windows updates? Is there a
setting I have to make? or confirm?

Windows XP Pro SP2

rerun network setup wizard and you should be fine.
