Thanks for your response Vincent.
The Vista help line discusses firewall ports that need to be open for media
streaming.
I don't have access to my computer right now, but I found similar "firewall"
settings for Windows XP:
Port..................Protocol..................Di rection
1900...................UDP.................Inbound/Outbound
2869...................TCP.................... Inbound
10280-10284........UDP................ Inbound/Outbound
10243..................TCP................... Inbound
In an attempt to try everything, I placed similar port settings in "Port
Forwarding" in the Linksys configuration page. I don't know that this is
necessary. All devices are within my home.
I've seen many discussions on-line about problems streaming to the PS3 that
discuss placing the PS3 in the DMZ in the Linksys configuration, outside all
firewall protection. I have not done that, and I really don't think I have a
firewall issue. It's a Vista issue.
