PST files in documents

I have 2 pst files in my documents one named CoCo 208 KB and one named
Outlook 830,257 KB. It says they can be opned in Word but Word won't open
them. My hard drive with XP crashed and my files were transfered to an
external drive by a computer guy who then loaded them on my new computer with
Vista. I have Outlook 2007. What do I do with these files. I'm not
computer savvy at all! Thanks.

The files contain your Outlook emails, and calendar stuff and contacts. Put
them in a convenient folder in My Docs that you would like to file them in,
then go to Control Panel > Mail. Then add the Data Files to your Outlook.

PST files are email files. You probably won't be able to garner any data
from within Word. You will need to access them through Outlook.

They cannot be opened in Word. Who said that? Open Outlook 2007 then click on
File>Import/Export>Import files>Import .pst files. Just curious, why didn't
you ask the computer guy how to do that while he was at it?

I did what you suggested but Word still trys to open them and of course I get
an error message! Now what? Thanks for your help by the way.

Once you have added them to your Outlook mailstore, in the way I have
described, or another way within Outlook, you just use Outlook. You mail
should all appear in your folders there.
