I am in desperate need of some advice. I was running FP2003 on XP. My
computer died and I bought a new one with Vista. I was assured that
everything would work the same. Everything loaded, but when I try to publish
my website, it comes up with the following error: The server sent a response
which Frontpage could not parse. If you are trying to connect to a Windows
Sharepoint services server, check with teh server's administrator to make
sure Windows Sharepoint services is installed properly.

In the status space at the bottom when I do a file, publish this site, ti
says that it is opening the website. It prompts for me to put in my login,
the just sits and runs for about 1 minute before the error comes up.

I am at a complete loss as to what to do next. I can't update anything.

Well, I don't know what is going on there. But I can at least confirm
that FP2003 does work in Vista - even with Office 2007 installed. I
have made changes to my own site and published it using FP2003.

Hi,

I suspect your host server uses front page extensions and they are not yet
installed. Normally, most host services can provide you with the appropriate
download.

I contacted my host company and they said that it was something with Vista
and Front Page. The extensions are loaded.
Thanks for the help

I have no problem uploading web pages with FP 2003 on a Vista installations.
It could be something with your particular setup or a faulty FP
installation.

Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability
to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable
for their apparent disinclination to do so.
