what a pushy piece of crap

Today when I started Messenger 2009, I was FORCED to "update" to a new
version.
Could use my old version no more.
After that I have been busy for hours trying to update, because everytime
installation ended with error messages.
Then I removed old version first, cleaned up etc. and tried to install live
messenger 2011 again.

What appears on screen now... a big blunt window called 'messenger 2011'
this must really be a joke !!!
This new "improved" version! Its like a christmas tree hanging full of
flashing ads!

I have been using different versions of messenger in the past for many
years, but this is really the limit!
Now I'm going to wipe messenger from all my computers, and I'll go on search
for sensible alternatives.

Any suggestions?

Yep, the new versions of WLM are designed by the 2 year old kid of one of
the Microsoft people. A very stupid kid also by the looks of it.
It indeed looks like a big load of crap. I don't know how to get it all back
but I suggest to do a search over at http://messengergeek.wordpress.com/ .
That is the site of Jonathan Kay who was here in this newsgroup a lot in the
past.

I have gave up on live messenger and switched to Skype.
