Sorry, I don't understand that question. Do you mean to ask whether
you can read a DVD disc?

It's primarily a hardware question, not an operating system one. If
your computer has a DVD drive, you can read a DVD.

That said, most modern computers, including those that came with Vista
installed, come with DVD drives.

If you have a place to connect it (spare IDE or SATA port) and a spare 5
1/4'" external slot it should be possible. If not, you can probably hook
up a USB DVD drive, but the odds of getting it to work is more dicey.

I would be very surprised if a machine new enough to have Vista on it
would not already have a DVD. I'm pretty sure you already have one.

On the odd chance that you machine simply has a cdrom...
I'd just remove it an replace it with a DVD burner

Hi,

I'm going out on a limb and assuming you mean you want to rip a DVD movie
and save it on your hard drive. If so, the answer is yes, and there are many
tutorials and bits of software to help:

Hi, I'm extremely sorry, I think I may have asked my question confusingly.
Iam actually looking to see if it is possible to upload dvds onto my
computer.

Yes. Copy protection may prevent it unless defeated. You can do it
directly to the hd or to a virtual drive.
